I like to work closely with my tutees in a one-to-one setting, to ensure that the student has my full attention. I provide a number of resources and study guides that help them in their revision. I do my best to develop good studying habits and skills in my tutees, not simply making sure that they accomplish their homework and pass their tests. I try to help my tutees become independent learners, so that they will eventually be capable of learning and revising without the constant presence of a tutor.
I am very patient with students, and I encourage them to work hard to achieve good results.

Commitment

I am willing to start as soon as possible. I can teach from 4 pm onwards from Monday - Thursday, and from 6 pm onwards on Sundays. I will be out of Singapore for the last three weeks of December.

Experience

I took my A levels in Indonesia and completed my degree in Applied Chemistry, NUS.
I have numerous experiences in tutoring students ranging from primary 3 to JC2 level, focusing on Math and Science (Chemistry). I have taught more than 5 primary kids on Math and Science, 1 secondary 2 girl on Math and Science, and 1 JC2 girl on Chemistry. So far they have all improved significantly in terms of grades and analytical thinking, which I believe is an important asset to train from young. One remarkable achievement was that I managed to bring the class position of a primary 6 boy from 26 to 13 just in 6 sessions of tutoring before his prelim followed with pushing his math and science grades above 60, which he rarely managed to pass before.
Apart from obtaining good grades, my ultimate goal in teaching is to guide my students in discovering the joy of learning, as I always believe that loving what you are doing will pave the way to success. Thus, my teaching method will be catered to the personality of the students themselves. In this way, the students will feel more comfortable during tuition and will find it more enjoyable rather than having the feeling of being forced to study.
As for my education background, I am a Bachelor Degree holder from NUS, majoring in Applied Chemistry and specializing in Drug Design and Development. I have a strong passion for math and science, which led me to participate in several science competitions where I managed to clench first for Biology Olympiad on Secondary level, and placed eight for Chemistry Olympiad on High School level. Over the time my passion for Chemistry grew and I chose to pursue Chemistry at NUS. I'm also capable in teaching Japanese language and I have official Japanese Language Proficiency Test certificate.
