Experience

I am an honours graduate from NUS and hold Masters degree with California State University, Eastbay. I was a member of the Advisory Committee of the Environment & Building Division, School of Engineering, Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
I specialize in teaching primary school Maths and am a teacher cum the Centre Director of a Tuition/Student Care Centre. Apart from acquainting myself with the Singapore primary school Maths curriculum, I have also attended seminars and conferences organized by Dyslexia Association of Singapore; which enabled me to have a good understanding of the difficulties faced by slower learners.
My track records include the following:
- A P2 pupil improved from 25% to > 70% in one term;
- A P3 pupil who joined for only 6 lessons improved from 55% to 87% in one term;
- A P3 pupil who improved from borderline pass to 2nd best in class in one semester
- A P4 pupil who improved from fail to best in class in one term;
- Two P4 students improved to around 90% in SA2 from 70% & 80% respectively in SA1.
- Everyone of a P5 class improved by 10% to 20% between CA2 and SA2. These include one who joined for only 6 lessons.
- A P6 pupil improved from 26% to a grade “B” at PSLE in 6 months.
I have proven track record for tuning weak students around and has the ability to push high ability students to excel. Incidentally, my eldest son was a recipient of the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Award for Maths & Science in 2009. This was awarded to only around 15 students out of a cohort of about 50,000 yearly.
While my preference is to take group tuition as students can motivate each other better due to peer influence, I can also take one-to-one private tuition if preferred. I have different classes for each level to cater to students of differing capabilities.

Experience

I've been teaching students from various backgrounds for two years. My students come from different age groups: primary school, secondary school and pre-school children. And also they are from different races, among them are Singaporeans, Filipino, Korean and Chinese. This has trained me in my teaching skills and my patience with students.
