I am a current fourth year SMU Law Undergraduate. I have been teaching tuition since 2008. I was appointed as the Economics Peer Tutor in JC and was also the GP Rep. I eventually graduated from JC as the top student of the Arts stream.

I have experience teaching English and Chinese to Upper Primary and Lower Secondary students and their results generally improved by 1-2 grades. I have also taught English, English Literature and History to Upper Secondary students. Results have improved to an A grade.

I enjoy teaching and I am patient with students. In addition, I have strong language skills in both Chinese and English. This is a strong advantage in teaching as I am able to translate and explain an English term in Mandarin, or vice versa. This allows students who are proficient only in one language to grasp the terms in the other language more easily.

I also have a strong interest in teaching Humanities subjects. I am able to teach students the exam techniques that I had learnt before. Generally, to do well for humanities, good essay-writing skills are necessary. To do well for literature, one needs to be familiar with literary techniques and how they can be applied.
