In NUS, I took the module MA1505 and got A+I provide individual and group tuition. Currently, I have 2 students (both primary 6) on hand and the biggest groups I taught consisted of 4 students. One of the girls I am teaching now has been receiving tuition from me since primary 5. I have been a tutor to a total of 6 students thus far (home tuition only), with primary 5 and secondary 1 being the lowest and highest level respectively. Besides that, I have also been a certified part-time tutor at Edu@re Centre, Hougang, in 2008. Having taken phonics classes, I highly encourage my students to cultivate good pronunciations and speak good English. I believe in making tuition classes relevant and fun where the student trust his/her teacher and looks forward to every lesson. I also practice regular monitoring of the student's homework as I have high expectations for each of my student. In addition, I place great emphasis on being a consistent student. To learn and avoid making the same mistake is the key to achieving greater foundations and skills. I would try my best in creating a study environment which my students learn from me and I learn from them as well. In general, my past and current students have seen improvements by a grade higher (usually C to B or B to A) in their examinations thus far. Nevertheless, should time permits, an improvement by 2 grades is definitely achievable with hard work.
