Experience

My CCA in Victoria Junior college was Interact Club where I volunteer to tutor primary school children from Telok Kurau Primary school on a weekly basis for 2 years. Besides enjoying interacting with the kids, I also grew a love for teaching. The kid I was in charge of was a primary 5 boy who was particularly cheeky and weak in maths, especially at problem solving and drawing models. Hence to help him improve, I often use sweets/pens to illustrate the concepts to him in the easiest manner (eg I give 10 sweets to John and I end up having 5 sweets less than john. How many sweets do I have at first?) After a few months, my kid improved from a D to a B in his maths and I am really proud of him

I am a fresh graduate without any teaching experience. Being excellent in my Mathematics grade, I can share my past studying methods with your child. Being a liberal person, I would be willing to work hand-in-hand with you and your child to adopt a flexible and ideal teaching method that can help your child secure a distinction in his or her Math subject.

Commitment

I can start anytime with a renewable four-week commitment. The renewal will be jointly agreed by me, the students and their parents. Being a part-time tutor, I can only give lessons during the Saturdays. There will be four lessons per month, with each ranging from 1 to 1.5 hour. The parents, students and I may reserve the right to reschedule the lesson to another suitable date so long as this is arranged at least one week beforehand. My weekly commitment is here for you to choose.

Experience

I have close to 4 years of teaching experience back during my undergraduate days. During those years, i specialised in teaching Korean international students English, with students ranging from 8 years old to 16 years old. Most of my students were studying in international schools in Singapore, e.g: Singapore American School, Overseas Family School and United World College. I focused on conversational English, and also taught them the fundamentals of English, such as grammar and creative writing. Many eventually mastered the English language very well and managed to be accepted to prestigious universities in America. My student base expanded rapidly from word of mouth referral, and at my peak, i was tutoring as many as 8 students part-time.

Commitment

I can start asap, and will be gone for a period of 2 weeks each in the month of March & April. Other than these 2 months, i am able to teach on a regular basis.
