Experience

I had three years of teaching experience at the lower Primary level in West View Primary School.
Being a teacher, my primary aim is to engage and motivate pupils in their learning. I devised my lessons and teaching materials to suit the different learning abilities of each pupil. I tried to conduct my lessons in various ways (eg: ICT-related lessons, use of songs, show and tell, dramatizing, use of manipulatives, hands-on activities and groupwork). I provide feedback or updates to parents on their child’s progress via face-to-face, phone calls, e-mails and Edmodo (an ICT platform) from time to time.
Every year, I was given a class of on-level ability pupils, with at least one with special needs. It was challenging, but I tailored my learning activities to maintain the interest of above-level ability pupils, keeping in mind not to intimidate the pre-level ability pupils.
I have been doing one-to-one tuition for the past 5 years. Watching how the children progress in academic and non-academic areas give me a great sense of achievement.

Experience

I have ABRSM grade 8 and been teaching piano since June 2011 but already possessed a track record of 100% passing rate.
Due to my experience of teaching class at Cristofori Music school, I do believe that I now have the needed expertise to teach any class of specific size with finesse and tact.
As my past and current students are between ages 3 to 30, I do believe that I am more than qualified to teach students of all ages. My lessons will be personalize and specifically designed to the student needs and attune to his/her learning curves, so learning would be progressive and meaningful.
