I believe in tailoring the way I teach to my students, instead of force feeding a certain 'tried and true' approach. I also believe in creating a positive atmosphere during lessons, so the child or young adult will feel enthusiastic about improving their command of English. Education need not be tedious, and understanding the method to the solution is much more effective than blatant memorizing. I have been able to help students as young as Primary 2, to JC 1 by staying true to this philosophy.
I taught students only for English and had 12 students so far, between Sec 1-4 and Pri 1-6. They were from SJI Junior, Catholic High, Qifa Pri and several other schools.

Commitment

I can start right away and will be able to do so until end of this year at least. I will not be going for any trips this entire year.

I am currently pursuing a Degree in Business (Hons) under SIM, University of London External Program. I graduated from Nanyang Polytechnic in April 2013 with a Diploma in Business Management, specialising in Human Resources. Since then, I have been teaching English and Geography, after completing my finance post at NLB last year. Albeit short term, I have had working experiences in firms such as SPH, IBM Singapore, NLB, HPB for internship and various temporary posts in the field of HR, Finance, Customer Services.
During my course of studies throughout the years, I have received awards for academic achievements on numerous occasions. I was awarded Edusave Bursary in Primary education years followed by Edusave Scholarship in Junior Secondary years. Subsequently in my Polytechnic education years, I was admitted into the Director's List for 3 semesters.
My intention of highlighting these achievements are not to boast my competence in terms of academic performance but rather to emphasize on one particular point. That is, the importance of sheer hard work and dedication towards achieving my personal goals and career path in life. Truthfully speaking, like everyone of my peers and classmates, we have all struggled and had our highs & lows in life, work and our studies as well, but what differentiates an Á Student from a B student, is the faith that the former possesses in him/herself and a humble attitude towards lifelong learning of knowledge to widen their horizon
This is why I enjoy teaching and imparting knowledge which I have acquired. I believe that every student has the ability to excel as long as they are willing to put in effort in developing their own potential and talents, they will succeed.
