Experience

I have been teaching piano with experience of 3 years and have handled kids at age youngest 4 years old. Always focus on foundations and techniques first before proceeding more quickly in terms of the different pieces. I strongly believe in good foundations and techniques and work hard in correcting and improving students’ playing methods. It may be a slow progress initially but the effects are good. Students play well and have less strained on my fingers due to having right techniques. I have students taking grade 3 ABRSM piano practical scoring merit and also distinctions in grade 2 theory exams. I interact well with kids of young ages and knows how to get their attention. Patient and don’t mind repeating theories as long as students are willing to learn. I know how to build up the passion in them for music and also many enjoy playing music after changing their teacher to me. I have a lot of performance techniques students can acquire gathered from lots of performances experiences. I believe in working together with parents especially for younger students I encouraged parents to sit in for lessons in order for both parties to have a understanding of lessons as well as to help students more during home practices before and after piano lessons.

Piano Beginner : $150, grade 1: $170, grade 2: $190, grade 3: $210 Grade 4: $230 (45 mins per lesson for 4 lessons, able to teach for 1h lessons too price differ accordingly)
Grade 5:$260, grade 6: $280, grade 7: $300, Grade 8: $320 (1h per lesson for 4 lessons.)
Chinese pri level: $20 per hour , Sec 1-2 $25 per hour, sec 3-4: $30 per hour

Experience

I have been teaching students in school subjects and piano for the past 5 years. I am patient and organised and usually come up with a teaching plan so that students know what to expect in the coming months.
I am currently teaching a P6 girl whom I have taught for 4 years from P3-P6 in mathematics and science. She currently scores A* in mathematics and A in science. Last year, I taught a JC girl H2 Mathematics. She has improved from a fail to a B. However, I stopped teaching due to university. Last but not least, I taught 3 boys aged 4-14 piano from beginners grade to grade 4. I enjoy teaching children. Seeing them learn and change their perspective of learning under my coaching is truly heartening.
