Experience

I am easygoing and patient. I will ensure that my student clarifies everything that he or she is unsure of and I will go through a certain concept/topic for the hundredth time willingly if my student still does not get it - without storming out of the room
My teaching style is such that I will teach the student what he or she does not understand and then in turn ask him or her to teach me back to make sure that she understands completely. Also I would ask him or her a few questions relevant to our previous sessions from our second session onward.
Another method I like to adopt is to introduce the topic/concept to the student first, before his or her teacher starts teaching it to give him or her a head start.
