Experience

My students were from CHIJ TPY and Ang Mo Kio secondary schools. In 2014, I had 3 O level students for E and A maths.
Teaching experience: I have 5 years experience specialising in secondary mathematics and 1 year experience in junior college H2 mathematics. Currently I have 4 students, 3 of them are in secondary school and 1 in IB programme. Previous students I have taught have shown improvement in their grades; in particular a secondary 2 normal academic student was at borderline pass for mathematics before I taught her. After teaching her for around 5 months, she showed vast improvement and eventually came up 3rd in class for her mathematics final year examination.
Teaching method: I usually start by going through the chapters with my students if they do not have a good understanding in what was taught in class. After knowing how to solve basic questions, I will then proceed to using assessment books to let them gain more exposure to the different types of questions that may come out for examination. In my many years of teaching mathematics, I believe that all students can score as long as they have enough practice as mathematics, to me, is all about practising as well as having a good understanding of the basic concepts. Difficult/challenging mathematics questions are built around the basic mathematics concept too.
