Experience

I have one year experience teaching a secondary 2 student. After giving math tuition to this particular student, he managed to improve from a c6 during his mid terms to a B3 during his end of year exams.

I had quite a bit of instructional experience, though not all of it pertains to academics. I was a student conductor in two seperate choirs for 6 years and am moving on to be a part time vocal coach at Pasir Ris Secondary School. My experience as a coach has taught me that not only do people have different rates of learning but they also respond differently to different methology.

In my current army posting, I am a Platoon Commander of a Signals company, where I train men in army skills as well as teach them the different communication systems.

I do believe that math is a subject that is enjoyable only if a student is able to grasp the foundations of the various concepts else he would be easily confused by the variations of the questions set. I was involved in informal peer tutoring as well during my schooling days and i fully understand that mathematics is a subject that is easy to succeed at with proper guidance.
