I beleive in teaching students to be able to understand their concepts clearly, and to make them able to explain it concisely. Only then will they be truly able to apply what they have learnt to questions in the papers. As such, i focus more on concepts first, before teaching them the skills to answer the questions. I also encourage students to draw mind maps for each topic after going through.
This will allow them to remmeber key points, and also, after subsequent topics, i will show them the interconnection between all the topics they have learnt, so they can apply all the relevant concepts into answering the questions. I also have the full set of notes from a top junior college, as such, students get good quality practice for the exams. I also have on hand prelim papers and answers form various JCs. Homework is also a must for my students, and i expect them to finsh the work so that they test themselves after each topic.
My previous students were from NYJC, VJC, PJC, IJC, SRJC, TPJC.
