Share my ideas with the student and thereafter to get the student to comment while I provide my input). Use of assessment books to focus on student's weak areas eg comprehension – Will not just sit there and watch while the student does his/her work; will explain and discuss as the student works on the questions

Will assess the student's weak areas/topics and focus more on those. Get the student to verbally highlight the steps to complete a problem sum to save time for more challenging problems. Use of different methods eg modelling, algebra cum model to solve problems

Experience

I have given maths tuition to secondary students ever since I was in full time teaching in the main stream schools. Individual students' learning abilities are unique to themselves and adaptive teaching methods would be adopted to ensure effective learning.
