Experience

Specialized in teaching primary school students, I have a year of formal tutoring experience. I'm currently teaching two kids in primary 4 and 5 respectively. I have personally helped the primary 4 kid to improve his maths grade from 28/100 to 60/100.
I will help the student with his/her school work before giving them any assessments to do. I believe that the student will only be able to understand the topic/subject fully after he/she is comfortable with the workload and pace taught in school.
Currently I have 6 Primary 4-6 students on hand.
The technique to teach each and every student varies, and I'm able to tutor the student based on his/her strengths and weaknesses respectively. I believe that private home tuition are beneficial for both parents and students as the tutors seek to assist the students with his/her weaker subjects with a firm understanding of the latest school syllabus.
Lastly, I enjoy teaching as it gives me great sense of achievement when I'm able to help the student improve in his/her examination grades.

FREE Assessment Books and Notes I personally use to score which I have been giving my students to score in exams.

My Experience
Having a reasonable amount of experience(5 years) in giving home tuition and teaching classes in various schools, I can say that being a good tutor is not as simple as it seems.There are a few main qualities which I believe I possess that sets me apart from other tutors.
I do not believe in spoon-feeding the students. I expect all students under my tutelage to be mature enough to understand the importance of studying. This will have a significant improvement. I always believe that both parties have to communicate to realized their common goal, and work hand in hand to achieve it. That is also why I provide my own notes which i personally use for my exams and customised notes for the students only if they need and deserve them, on the basis that they are willing to learn (i.e. have an inquisitive mind) and work hard towards achieving better results.
With practice questions, I will focus more on the students presentation of answers as presentation is KEY to scoring. From experience, i find that most students do have the knowledge but yet are unable to express that knowledge clearly, which causes them to lose marks. Most of the time, I will guide the student to discover the method of presentation that he is most comfortable with. If he is unable to do so, Ill provide my own way for the student to memorize, at the same time, explain it to him and what the purpose is behind different points mentioned.
As an experienced tutor, I understand how students feel when they have to do tuition work on top of schoolwork. Hence, for homework, I will usually give only key concept questions that are necessary for complete understanding of a topic. If required, I will request the student to do a simple mind-map of the chapter as homework. The purpose is to encourage the student to get an overview of the chapter and do a summary on it. The student will have to understand the chapter first before he is able to draft out a mind-map.
