Experience

Teaching Experiences:
• In 2010,I taught English in a tuition centre for two classes. Specifically, Primary 4 and Primary 6 students. I also gave relief teaching for 3 months in a Primary school where I taught all subjects besides Mother Tongue and PE.
• In 2012, I did relief teaching in a Secondary school for 3-4 months where I taught lower secondary Mathematics, upper secondary Mathematics, sciences and geography.
• In 2013, I did my internship in Ngee Ann Polytechnic where I was given the opportunity to lecture and tutor classes in various Mathematics modules like Diploma Plus, Biostatistics and Engineering Mathematics. I also did a research investigating what could be done to teach Mathematics in a manner that engages the students' interest and attention.

Commitment

I would love to commit for more than 1 year if possible.
Teaching Method:
• My teaching style is to create an environment where the student feels comfortable asking questions. I believe that most of the time when a student asks questions, he/she is processing what is being taught. This makes his/her learning more meaningful and he/she will be able to learn faster.
• I also believe that after teaching a key point, I should always pause to check if the student understood what I taught, before moving on to the next concept. It is not very useful to teach a harder concept and then force the student to memorize it, if the basic concept is not well-understood.
• Lastly, it is important that I keep the parent updated about the child's learning progress so that we can all work together to help the child learn better.
