Experience

Parents want the best for their child. So do you. Sometimes, you just don't understand why he/she has not been meeting your expectations in school.
I'm here to say, I understand.
I was a failing student in sec 1, and was the 3rd last student in class. I was lucky to remain in the express stream. Then I met someone. I met a relieve teacher who changed me. He was like a friend, so knowledgeable, so friendly. He made me want to learn, want to do well.
From being the 3rd last in class in sec 1, I jumped to top 40 in the whole school, and managed to enter the best class of my choice. What changed me so much?
The relieve teacher, definitely. We remain close friends and still keep in contact. I want to help students, just like he helped me. Owing to him, I have just graduated from Poly with a good score, and was also offered to study NUS and NTU business.
I got interested in teaching when I first started helping other students 3 years ago. I saw the delight of all 3 students when they achieved distinctions for both their Mathematics subjects and it made me smile. Then I realised, I love teaching.
'Once you reach the top, you'll never want to fall' (This was my motto after meeting my tuition teacher.)

1) Listen
My students have told me that I'm engaging and my lessons are interesting.

2) Practice
I observe all steps taken by my students when they practice questions to understand where they are weak in.
3) Homework
Most students hate doing homework. I try to motivate them by sharing my life stories.
