Experience

I am currently teaching 2 students. One Sec 2 Express Math & Science tuition and One Sec 1 N.A Math Tuition. My Sec 2 student have improved tremendously upon my teaching from 20% to 60% in class tests (not yet taken her EOY paper). Both students are still under-going tuition from me.
I'm a very goal-oriented person. As such, during the first few lessons, I will talk to my student and know more about him/her. I will also review their previous latest exam papers to gauge their standard and then do goal setting with them. I will ask them to set a target which is realistic enough for them to feel that they can achieve it. I believe that setting a goal is very important, as students will know where they are heading to and will work hard for it. I use their goal as a motivation for them to work hard.

Commitment

I'm willing to commit fully as long as I have free time. As I am having a 2 months break now, my schedule may vary such that I may not be free every single Monday. Therefore, I will plan in a week's advance with my student for the next week's schedule. Also, I will be travelling from 23rd-3rd Oct. My free days and timing slots would be weekend mornings and probably weekday nights. (Depends, can be discussed)

Experience

I am taking my BA in Education at NIE and will be completing in end 2015.
I taught in Yishun Pri, Teck Whye Pri and Dazhong Pri schools.
I have about a year of teaching experience in schools.I have five years experience tutoring primary 3, 4, 5 and lower secondary students. I had a secondary 2 student who was in the fail range at the beginning of the year and managed to attain an A with about 3 to 5 months of tutoring. Currently the primary 4 student that I am teaching used to fail maths. He managed to obtain 80 marks for his SA1.
During my lessons, I ensure that my students' have a wider understanding of the concepts in the syllabus by exploring materials beyond the textbook.. I provide challenging problems to my able students to stretch their thinking as well, My strengths as a tutor are being able to motivate students to achieve better results and my patience towards weaker students.
