Experience

I am a NIE trained Chinese Language teacher, and have more than 10 years of teaching experience in local primary schools. My teaching classes ranged from Primary 1 to Primary 6, and Low Ability (LA) classes to High Ability (HA) classes, and Foundation (FCL) classes to Higher Chinese (HCL) classes.
I am bilingual, and I am able to employ effective bilingual teaching strategy when teaching students who are weak in Chinese Language but conversant in English.
I have a Master degree in 'Instructional Design & Technology' from National Institute of Education (NIE). I always like to integrate the use of ICT in the teaching of Chinese Language, so as to make learning more engaging.
Last but not least, I had spent a few years in the Ministry of Education (MOE) Curriculum Planning and Development Branch (CPDD) Primary Chinese Unit working on Primary Chinese curriculum, namely textbooks, workbooks and related educational resources. After which, I was posted back to school and was appointed as the covering HOD (Head of Department of Chinese Language) of a good Primary School in the East. Armed with all these experience, I am very familiar with the Singapore Primary school curriculum, PSLE exam requirements, local Primary school exam standard and requirements.

I have worked part time as well while studying for my A levels, hence the 10 years experience of tutoring even though I may be considered young by many. I have both experience as a relief teacher in Sembawang Secondary School (as a lower secondary Maths relief teacher) and Nan Chiau High School (as a Chinese relief teacher), and a tutor at Kumon Learning Centre.

Commitment

I can start as soon as possible and have available slots on the following days and timing:
Thursdays: 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 to 10:00 p.m.
Fridays: 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Saturdays: 8:00 to 10:00 a.m and 5:00 to 10:00 p.m.
More slots will be available from October 2015 and I will be going on a trip in November (last 2 week) so lessons would resume or start in December 2015
