Having just graduated from Junior College, and recently having undergone the MOE Teaching Internship Programme (Secondary school), I am largely in-touch with both syllabuses; directly familiar with both the required content as well as skill-set. While I am indubitably aware of the rigour required to ace national exams, I understand also that it is equally important to enjoy what you are studying. As such, I make it a priority to ensure that students under my guidance are comfortable with the pace we move at and our approaches to understanding the subjects. I am confident that I will be able ensure that communication is convenient and easy.
I pride myself in my efficiency and sense of responsibility, understanding that I am there as a facilitator for the student and their loved ones. I place a large significance on ensuring that I am someone who is deserving of trust, thus I make sure to sustain and improve the quality of my work so as to avoid any need to worry. Materials provided will a mix of both reliable external sources as well as personally crafted ones.
As for my teaching subjects, I focus mainly on English Literature, History, as well as English, at Secondary school and Junior College levels. These subjects are not just chosen out of convenience, but fundamentally from my own personal conviction and passion for what they encompass, of which I feel is evident is my own results and attitude. I believe that students largely feed off of the energy that the teacher provides when introducing these subjects, thus I believe the sharing process during my tuition lessons will be an enjoyable one. I aim not only to cover what is most important – the examinable topics and skills, but also to provide further depth and insight to topics covered, which would provide them with an advantage during their exams. It is important that students see the subjects as applicable to the real-life context, rather than merely pen-and-paper.
As a student, I was recognized by my teachers as insightful and hardworking, with proficiency in both speaking and writing. In my time as a school teacher under the internship programme, I not only improved in those aspects, but have acquired the necessary understanding as to how to make lessons more effective, with the knowledge that each student is vastly unique in their strengths and weaknesses. These are skills I hope to improve in my students, and will help me in my own teaching as well.

Experience

Having taken Physics at the O-level in an Integrated Programme, and also taking both H2 and H3 Modern Physics at the A-level, I have a good idea and knowledge of dealing with what the scope of the subject encompasses and how best to tackle the papers.
I will be able to teach until September before commencing my undergraduate studies in Physics at the University of Oxford but rest assured that I will do my best to provide guidance for any students.
I also have a year of prior experience offering tuition for a Secondary 4 boy for O-level Physics, upon which his grades have improved from C6 to A2 in the O-levels, after employing better techniques of studying, understanding and answering the papers.
