Experience

Currently tutoring a P4 student and a Lower Sec Express student. I graduated from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) with 44 points for the IB exam. I am extremely passionate and motivated when it comes to teaching. At the age of 11, I worked with my teacher to set up a new tuition programme catering to weaker students in English. I came up with resources, assigned tutors and taught groups of students myself. My Mandarin teacher was so impressed with my teaching skills that she asked me to take over a couple of lessons! Since then, I have been constantly tutoring and helping peers and students with their academic work. I am willing to invest extra time to prepare for each lesson. I know exactly what examiners are looking for and prepare my students well for exam questions. I have a gift of explaining and simplifying a concept. I am enthusiastic and hope to bring out the fun in learning for my students.

I may be new to tutoring, but I know how to tailor my teaching to the student. For example, my current student is taking the \'O\' Levels this year. I found out that his key obstacle to good grades is his weak command of English, and I have provided newspapers and science articles with the goal of increasing his exposure to different manners of expression. I am also familiarising myself with the \'O\' Level English syllabus, even though I was in IP and was hired to teach him Physics and Maths, so that I can better prepare him for the \'O\'s.

Commitment

I can start immediately and will be able to commit every weekend for a minimum of 6 months. That is because I am currently applying to study overseas. If I ultimately choose to study in a local university, I can and will commit to seeing my students through their final exams.

Experience

I\'m currently an undergraduate studying in NUS, majoring in Economics. I have taught 3 secondary school students emaths and amaths for at least 3 months. I believe that learning is all about understanding, grasping concepts and applying them. My usual teaching method includes: building and strengthening foundations, step-by-step analysis to questions, drills on weaker topics when needed.
